Suomen ainoa ammattilaispelaaja Robin Hull valotti FinnSnookerille kauden 2015-2016 kalenteriaan. Tähän mennessä hän on osallistunut vasta Riga Openiin ja Shanghai Mastersiin, mutta kauden voittotili on vielä avaamatta. Nyt hän pääsee kuitenkin pelaamaan omalla kepillään. Hullin seuraava ottelu on torstaina 1.10. klo 11.30 Suomen aikaa. Kyseessä on International Championshipin karsintaottelu, jossa vastaan asettuu nuori Sean O’Sullivan.
Hullin kausi jatkuu International Championshipin karsintojen ja lokakuussa pelattavan mahdollisen pääsarjan jälkeen marraskuun puolella European Tourin neljännessä osakilpailussa Bulgariassa. Myös kuun päätteeksi pelattava UK Championship on luonnollisesti kalenterissa. Sen sijaan Ruhr Openin ja Haining Openin suomalainen jättää näillä näkymin väliin. Vuosi päättyy Gibraltar Openiin ja German Mastersin karsintoihin, jotka molemmat pelataan joulukuussa.
Kauden 2016 ensimmäinen turnaus on helmikuussa pelattava German Masters, jos Hull läpäisee karsinnat turnaukseen. Sen jälkeen vuorossa ovat China Openin karsinnat sekä Welsh Open. Puolassa pelattava European Tourin viimeinen osakilpailu ei kuulu Hullin alustavaan kilpailukalenteriin.
Maaliskuun ainoa turnaus on China Open, jos 41-vuotias vain läpäisee karsinnat turnaukseen. Myös Players Championship Grand Final ja World Grand Prix ovat maaliskuussa, mutta tällä hetkellä Hullin tienestit eivät riitä kumpaankaan turnaukseen. Tilanne voi toki muuttua kauden aikana. Kausi päättyy huhtikuussa MM-kisoihin, mutta päästäkseen kolmatta kertaa peräkkäin Crucibleen suomalaisen on ensin selvitettävä karsintaotteluita.
On kuitenkin syytä huomioida, että kilpailukalenteri on alustava ja voi vielä kauden aikana muuttua. Joka tapauksessa näillä näkymin ohjelmassa ovat kaikki loput turnaukset paitsi Ruhr Open, Haining Open, Gdynia Open sekä nippu kutsuturnauksia. Lisäksi World Grand Prix ja Players Championship Grand Final ovat vielä epävarmoja.

The only Finnish professional player, Robin Hull, has revelaled to FinnSnooker his calendar of the season. So far he has only taken part in the Riga Open and the Shanghai Masters but the number of wins stands still at zero. However, he is now able to play with his own cue – unlike has been the case so far this season. His next match is on Thursday the first of October at 9.30 am British time as he faces young Sean O’Sullivan in the only qualification round of this year’s International Championship.
After the qualifiers and a potential trip to China Hull continues his season in the fourth event of the European Tour in Bulgaria. The tournament will be played in November. Played at the end of the month, the UK Championship is, of course, also part of the schedule. However, the Finn will likely skip both the Ruhr Open and the Haining Open. The year ends with the Gibraltar Open and the German Masters qualifiers, both of which will be played in December.
The first tournament of 2016 will be the German Masters in February barring qualifiers. After that the Finn will take part in the China Open qualifiers and the Welsh Open. Played in Poland, the last tournament of the European Tour isn’t part of Hull’s provisional calendar.
The only tournament in March will be the China Open barring qualification. Also Players Championship Grand Final and World Grand Prix are to be played in March but at the moment Hull’s prize money is short of attending either of the tournaments in question. The situation might of course change in the course of the season. The season ends with the World Championship in April. To make it to the Crucible for the third time in a row Hull must tho win win some qualification matches first.
It is worth noting that the calendar is still provisional and might alter during the season. Anyway, the only tournaments the Finn is likely to skip are the Ruhr Open, the Haining Open, the Gdynia Open and a bunch of invitational tournaments. The situation with the World Grand Prix and the Players Championship Grand Final is still uncertain.
